Poor update, without issues warning

This latest update seems rushed. I now know that only older issues are affected by the pdf-scan style pages, so I can understand if the update broke something in the old digital issues. I can give a star back for that. A one-time pop-up would have been nice to explain the issue though. But this new update is still much slower than it used to be--or at least I perceive it to be. Pages shouldnt load halfway, giving you a blurry image to look at until it fully loads. The old app simply had white pages until it loaded fully, which still didnt seem to take as long as in this new update.

I Feel Cheated

I am usually an issue or two behind and this latest update just made the reading experience so painful on the iPad I am considering canceling. The older issues take so long to read now and the UX is so painful it is not something I look forward to any more. Popular Science just made reading their magazine a drudgery. Way to go PopSci!!

Not good format

I have had a print subscription for a year or so now and saw that I could access these on my phone now I was very excited. Until I actually loaded them and found the user interface to basically unusable. I appreciate the layout of the print magazine when I have a full size magazine. Zooming and swiping like crazy got old really quickly.

Junk

Garbage application. Latest update caused me to lose access to most previous purchases and the ones that remain are glorified PDFs. This is not what I paid for or was promised. No refund options exist, buyer beware the app is JUNK

Horrible update

I have had a subscription for several years, and picked popular science because they did such a good job utilizing the technology with interesting interactivity. With the recent update it has changed to a static PDF version of the magazine with no interactivity. This update is a disappointment.

Couldnt access subscription

I subscribed to the digital issue of this magazine with hopes of sharing it with my teenage boys. They love anything to do with science and technology. I have not had access to the magazines since day one and never got a real reply back as to why. They have no record of my subscription but they have all of my account information and charged me for another year. I had to go through iTunes to get my subscription canceled and get my money back since the magazine company would not respond.

Rip Off

I cant open the magazine anymore or even figure out how to cancel my subscription. This life long subscriber is completely fed up and disgusted with this update.

Love new subscription feature...

This was my favorite iPad magazine because it took advantage of the touch features of the iPad and it was super easy to subscribe. Now it is a low-rent Zinio clone and Ive lost three years of back issues and the ones remaining have been downgraded to poor quality scans. Ive subscribed to PopSci since the 1980s. Why the heck should I keep that up now?

Subscription out, not renewing

Although this is a decent app and great magazine; due to not accommodating paid paper subscriptions and the long history of lack and poor customer service provided by "Popular Science" I have decided to let my subscription run out and not renew it this time. Currently looking into other magazines of similar interest that are not owned or managed by same company.

Didnt even try to optimize for iphone 6+ screen

Its obvious they are not putting any resources to making a usable experience on the iPhone.

Add iPhone 6 Plus Optimization!!!

This app is very bad... Basically scanned pages... No interactive experience anymore... I find myself reading a lot more on my iPhone 6 Plus. Please add support for that platform.

Scrolls backwards

Scrolling is right to left instead of left to right. Also there is not a text mode for easy reading like on other magazines.

Crashes constantly

Barely works on my iPad Air. When I do get it to load, the stories and pages are basically just scanned copies of the magazine. Im a fan of the magazine but whats going on with this app?

Unable to get new issues with digital only subscription

Since I only have a digital subscription I dont have a Bonnier Corp user name and password to log in with. I have been a digital only subscriber for three years and now I am unable to get the current issue because I am unable to use their application only login

Whats going on?

Is this app broke or something? Wheres the October issue?

Hey Bonnier - Thanks for prompting me to download a new app.... Oh wait, you didnt.

What a piece of junk

This app is now nothing more than a PDF reader. It used to have interactive pages, the ability to change device orientation, and overall a much, much better look and feel, etc. Now it appears they have scanned the print magazine in, added a few hyperlinks, and called it good. Oh, did I mention that now you cant view any of the earlier interactive issues ... that were PAID FOR?!? Please dont reward PopSci for this crap by purchasing in app issues.

Love that you provide the digital version to print subscribers

Had an issue getting the October update. Needed to uninstall then reinstall the app to resolve. Only downside was re-downloading all the issues I was behind on. Great to have this magazine included with my digital collection.
